PS22 Chorus of 2011 gets placed in Time Out!

The PS22 Chorus of 2011 is off to a flying start before they've even begun! The upcoming group is already getting some amazing spotlight as the cover feature of Time Out NY for Kids August 2010 issue!! In addition, Time Out's website has an awesome multi-media component that includes a great article with some fantastic group pics and 2 preview videos of the kids rehearsing, including this one below.

But that's not all! Perhaps the best feature on the online-version is an in-depth look at the new members, which includes a comprehensive slideshow with individual pics and quotes from each of the 37 children selected for the 2011 group so far! Already the PS22 Chorus feature is the #1 most viewed article on their site! (Check out the screencap below!)

Below check out a small sample of the great pics from Time Out, courtesy of the magazine. Big thanks to Rory Halperin and all those involved with putting together this amazing piece!!

Love the rehearsal footage, Mr. B! I've always been interested in how you teach the kids new songs and explain the meaning. Would love to see more of this stage of your process.

Observing your video, I see teaching on multiple levels including vocabulary, speech, communications, psychology and when you roll that into the music where pleasure receptors are switched on, learning becomes not only painless but joyful. No wonder the students reading and math improves... It looks a bit like interdisciplinary teaching--which is clearly working beautifully with the students.
