"A Comic Book Tattoo"

We are proud to debut the PS22 Chorus' phenomenal version of "Flying Dutchman" by Tori Amos! The kids really outdid themselves on this incredibly beautiful AND incredibly difficult song.

**UPDATE** Within hours of the song being posted, Perez Hilton found the video and posted it on his celebrity blog!! Congratulations chorus!!! :)

**UPDATE 2** The video has gone viral thanks to Perez Hilton, who posted the video on his hugely visited blog, calling the PS22 Chorus version of Flying Dutchman "a beautiful, beautiful rendition." Already the kids version of Flying Dutchman is, appropriately enough, the #22 most watched music video on YouTube today! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! Click on the pics below to read all of the honors and see a screen cap of the PS22 Chorus on Perez's blog.

  24. To say the PS22 chorus is amazing feels like I am selling them short. Their voices are just surreal and angelic while the emotion is so pure.

I hope your students realize the moments with this chorus will stay with them forever. My days of singing in a chorus (from elementary through high school) are long gone but the memories remain.

You are such a great influence on them and I pray all of you will continue doing great things!

  43. IT made me almost cry to see the power of music on children and other people.

Do you have a foundation or nonprofit? Where should people go if they want to support the Arts in School movement?

    ReplyDelete
  44. what a kind offer g-e-m. a fund was established in our chorus's name by a very special family. people have made donations to our arts program through the fund. if you would like more info, you can e-mail me. otherwise there's always VH1's Save The Music program. thanks for your message! :)

  49. Wow! These kids are absolutely amazing! Thank you for all that you do. Thank you to the kids! They are incredible. I love Tori's songwriting and her beautiful, haunting, dreamlike voice. Hearing the kids sing her songs, any song for that matter, brings tremendous joy. When a song,voice,lyric,sound...fills you with so much emotion that it brings a tear to your eye and warms your heart, that is music's purpose. to make you remember,to think, to love, cry, even anger you. when you are stirred emotionally by music...its an incredible feeling that is very personal. and these feelings are brought forth by strangers for the most part. that is incredible! I love these kids and I love you for all you do for them. Thankyou
