You may recall that the PS22 Chorus of 2009 scored big last year with a brilliant cover of Bjork's "One Day." Here is an equally brilliant version of another great song of the same name by reggae singer Matisyahu from our 2010-ers!! For sure it's one of their best. And congrats to Leah for nailing the solo!
UPDATE (2-11-10): Congrats to the chorus for scoring a YouTube Honor without any major celebrity assistance (as of yet!).
leah didnt ust nail that she rocked that the chorus sounded beautiful and thay had so much spunk they look awsome too but overall it was excellent

Beautiful! Just makes my day to get my latest dose of PS22 goodness! Thanks Mr. B for keeping a blog! Love it! Keep it up kids, from your fan down her in FL! :)

I was a member of PS22 Chorus from 1974-76! Back then we sang Bob Dylan's "Blowing in the Wind", Simon and Garfunkel's "Feeling Groovy", Peter, Paul and Mary's "If I Had a Hammer" and "Leaving on a Jetplane" just to name a few. Of course there was no YouTube back then, but I don't know if any parents might have some home movies in their basement somewhere. Have you heard from anyone else from before your time, Mr B?
ReplyDelete@neils, i've heard from a few ps22 alumni that were inquiring about the school song at the time. (PS22 -- Give a helping hand?) hope you can find some of those home movies! :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic, Mr. B. You are inspiring preservice and inservice teachers all over the world. I'm spreading the word!
ReplyDeleteMelissa Miller

ReplyDeleteyour work is amazing, beautiful, full of hope

ReplyDeletevery cool!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great song for the kids to sing, they did a wonderful job as usual! A lot of kids their age try to grow up way too fast, but I adore the fact that they just like to be kids and have fun. Love the message of the song too, I hope the kids get to perform this song somewhere! I think it would cause a lot of tears (happy tears of course). Bravo Mr. B and choir!!
ReplyDeleteI know you probably get a lot of requests for the choir, but I think "Stand Up For Love" by Destiny's Child would be a great song for them to sing. It's another song with a great message!
