The Webby Arrives.....

...and it is stunning! If you haven't, make sure you check out the PS22's incredible Webby Award performance and highly memorable 5 word acceptance speech!

20 Million Views!!

The PS22 Chorus is proud to have achieved over 20,000,000 viewings of videos on our main YouTube channel! (That doesn't even include the millions of hits garnered from PS22's alternate channel, Schooltube channel, and third party posters!) As a matter of fact, with the amazing week they've had, the kids almost completely bypassed the 20 million, and will most likely have scored 21 million views by tomorrow's end. Congrats kids, and heartfelt thanks especially to Ms. Lisa & Mrs. Johnson, who together have filmed the bulk of the videos on our channel!

In other video views news, PS22's #1 most watched video, "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga has earned itself an extra cool million hits this week from being featured as a spotlight video on YouTube's home page on Thursday! This brings the total # of views of that video to over 3.5 million! Who could ever have imagined?? To quote Albert Justin F., "The saga will continue!"

PS22 Chorus Gets A Makeover!

As you might have noticed, things look a little different 'round these parts. Hugest thanks to chorus mega-fan, Zendrig, who took the time to design our amazing new header pic!! (The main image featuring the upcoming PS22 Chorus of 2011 was kindly donated to the cause by Time Out New York for Kids and its photographer, Jordan Hollender. Big thanks to them too!) Zen put everything together magnificently, and it's a beautiful tribute to the accomplishments of the kids! The new header inspired other changes, and we're very excited about the new look of the blog overall! Still working out some changes, so bear with us as we install them.

To download the new masterpiece of a header in it's original size click on it below! (It happens to make for a great wallpaper!)

PS22 Chorus of 2011 gets placed in Time Out!

The PS22 Chorus of 2011 is off to a flying start before they've even begun! The upcoming group is already getting some amazing spotlight as the cover feature of Time Out NY for Kids August 2010 issue!! In addition, Time Out's website has an awesome multi-media component that includes a great article with some fantastic group pics and 2 preview videos of the kids rehearsing, including this one below.

But that's not all! Perhaps the best feature on the online-version is an in-depth look at the new members, which includes a comprehensive slideshow with individual pics and quotes from each of the 37 children selected for the 2011 group so far! Already the PS22 Chorus feature is the #1 most viewed article on their site! (Check out the screencap below!)

Below check out a small sample of the great pics from Time Out, courtesy of the magazine. Big thanks to Rory Halperin and all those involved with putting together this amazing piece!!

Summer Stock

Here are some goodies I've come across while sorting through the archives! More great vids will surface throughout the summer so stay tuned! But presented here:

1) An alternate version of "One Day" by Matisyahu, featuring Miguelito and Eddie from our final chorus practice! Miguelito sounds great taking over on the spot for a vacationing Leah, and Eddie shows he's all multi-talented and stuff!

2) An alternate version of "Pearls" by Sade from February, featuring a chilling a cappella intro!

3) A solo version of "Naturally" by Selena Gomez as performed by Karinna on the day of our final chorus rehearsal! She does such a great job on this spontaneous hallway rendition!

4) A solo version of "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift from Brielle filmed on May 21. Love the different spin she puts on the song!

5) A solo version of "Disturbia" by Rihanna from Allie that was filmed sometime during the 2008-9 school year! Always awesome to hear Allie...

Celtic Gifts!

Another huge thank you to Celtic Woman, for sending the PS22 Chorus some truly amazing personalized keepsakes from our unforgettable experience with them back in February. Above, you can see a pic of a drum skin they sent us that was signed by practically everyone in the Celtic camp! They even took the time to send individual autographs, signed by all five members of the group, for everyone in the chorus! But perhaps the greatest gift of all is watching these reflections on their time with PS22 both at Radio City Music Hall and in our school auditorium in these awesome videos below! Love and thanks for all the kind words and gifts!! We're truly blown away, and so grateful!

(She even got to sing the song with Travis himself! Check it out!)Here she sings a bit of "Paparazzi" by Lady Gaga, and further proves that this girl is a major contender!

David's Encore Performances! *UPDATED*

Check out this brilliant reprise of "Not The Red Baron" by Tori Amos as performed by PS22 Chorus alum, David! Long time PS22 Chorus fans may recall David's original rendition of this from way back in June of 2003, truly one of my favorite PS22 solo performances of all time. Now almost 18 here, he shows his voice has only developed and improved with time....

UPDATE: And here is David singing a fantastic version of "Amazing Grace."
